Interschool Sports Carnival
Congratulations are deserved to all the children who participated in last Thursday’s Lightning Carnival at Kingsway. All the children played with great effort and fairness and considering the differing ability levels and experience of the children, the results were outstanding.
My thanks to the staff who managed the teams, our wonderful parent coaches, ex student Josh McIntyre and the wonderful Mr Plant who did a lot of work behind the scenes.

We will be running the Cross Country Carnival this Friday June 14th starting at 9.00am.
A timetable for the day has been sent home.
Medal presentations will take place after lunch in the Undercover Area along with the Trophy for the winning team.

Lifelink Day was held on 5th June.
4 Student Councillors attended LikfeLink Day 2019 at Newman College with many other student leaders from other schools in WA. The day focuses on remembering people in need within the community – our ‘brothers and sisters’ right here ‘at home’ in WA. The Year 6 Student who represented our school were: Anya Thomas, Lara Toomath, Alex Puca and Nicholas Martino.
LifeLink Day provides a wonderful opportunity for students attending Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Perth, to join together to show their collective support for the many Church social service agencies – agencies which on behalf of us all, reach out to provide practical care and direct assistance to thousands of people in need within the community each year.
All students in the school were asked to contribute to LifeLink’s ‘Big Book of Love & Hope”
This book included messages of support and care to people in need
from Catholic school students in the Archdiocese of Perth. Our book was proudly presented by our Student Councillors.
The books from all of the different Catholic Schools will be displayed during the national Catholic Youth Festival which will be held here in Perth later this year. Afterwards, these books will be permanently displayed in the Archbishop’s Office, CEWA, given to our agencies, aged care facilities, hospitals etc.
To further assist this very worthwhile cause we will be having a
‘Pyjama Day’ next Thursday 20th June.
All students are invited to wear their pyjamas for a gold coin donation.
Students may wear pyjamas, slippers, dressing gown and also allowed to bring one small soft toy (not compulsory).
The work of LifeLink and St. Luke’s is indeed a positive demonstration of: Faith in Action.

Week 4 Assembly Performances
Congratulations to our Band, Choir and pianists who performed so beautifully at last week’s assembly. Mrs Williams’ pianists were well prepared and confident in their performances and showcased a great range of repertoire available to the piano. Our Band performed for the first time with some Blues which included solos from Adam Hoang on keys, Abigail Leeks and Alyssa Zimmermann on vocals and Julian Pugliese on drumkit. Our beautiful Choir performed a wonderful arrangement of This Little Light of Mine with solos from Ruby Anderson, Matilda Mackie and Addison Bidwell.
The whole school sang Message Song, written by Mater Dei College, for Sorry Day.
It was a wonderful occasion to celebrate some of the fabulous music making happening at St Luke’s.
