St Luke’s continues to be a Nut Aware School.

There are students in the school with nut allergies and documented severe reactions. Please assist their safety by excluding nuts and nut products from student lunch boxes at all times.

Golden Lunchbox – each week a class will be selected at the whole school Friday assembly to take up the challenge and to try and have a waste free lunchbox in the week following. Waste free lunches contain only items that are eaten, composted or recycled. They don’t contain wrappers or packaging that will be thrown into the rubbish bin. Waste free lunches are often packed in reusable containers.

• Worm Fridge – courtesy of the Mindarie Regional Council we now have a worm fridge that is located outside Kindy (south side). All of the Year 2-6 classes had the opportunity to learn more about the worms and see how they feel. 3B will be in charge of looking after the worms this term and 1B will be collecting shredded paper from the office for them.
• Organic Waste – the students have done a fabulous job of placing their organic waste in the green bin and returning their plastic waste into their lunch boxes this week. 5B have been doing a fantastic job of placing the food scraps into the compost bins.
